How much head do you need?
Max head is the total height a pump can move water: the height it sucks up from your water source plus the height it pumps to. Choose a pump with more head than your property needs, so there is pressure left at the nozzle.
Flow is how much water a pump moves, in litres per minute. More flow moves water faster.

Petrol or diesel?
The MH15-SHP and MH215-SHP run on Honda GX petrol engines with recoil start. Petrol pumps are lighter and cost less. The MYD15HPE runs on a Yanmar diesel engine with electric start. Diesel is more fuel efficient, better for long running and less flammable.
Setting up for fire defence
01
Give it its own power
Mains power is usually lost in a bushfire. An engine driven pump keeps working without it.
02
Connect a roof sprinkler system
A fire fighting pump can supply a sprinkler system on the roof of your house.
03
Add a hose kit
The FFK01-B adds a 6 m delivery hose with fire spray nozzle and a 4 m suction hose with strainer.
04
Check it before the season
Check the oil before each start and follow the service schedule in your Operator's Manual.
A pump is one part of a bushfire plan. Make a bushfire survival plan with your state fire authority, check the fire danger rating, and leave early when they advise you to.
